The European Court of Justice announced an important ruling on the implementation of the Fixed-Term Workers Directive.

This Code seeks to assist employers and employees in establishing effective arrangements for information and consultation in the workplace.

Labour Court Publishes its Annual Report for 2007

The Labour Court Annual Report contains an overview of statistics with regard to Cases Referred, Cases Completed, and a synopsis of some of the individual determinations made by the Court in 2007. Fewer days have been lost through industrial disputes than in any other year since the 1920s.

Appointment of National Employment Rights Authority (NERA) Advisory Board

The Employment Rights Compliance Bill, 2008 provides for the establishment of an Advisory Board to support the National Employment Rights Authority. This Board has been appointed initially on an interim basis until the Bill is enacted. This is likely to be enacted later in 2008.
