Simon Mac Rory CEO of Graphite Awarded Doctorate Degree

Graphite are delighted to announce that Simon was awarded the degree of Doctor of Business Administration on the 19th December 2009 from Nottingham Trent University in recognition of a programme of work entitled

"The Application of a Generic Framework in Organisational Diagnostics and Organisational Development"

Simon's research was focused on the impact of generic business tools on organisation culture. In particular his research considered how business tools impact beyond their intended remit and shape organisational culture, often without the awareness of organisational members. The research was developed through a critical longitudinal case study at Camelot Group Plc (operators of the UK National Lottery) during their second license period from 2002 - 2009.

Simon's research in adopting and applying a critical realist epistemology to develop a new and embedded model of organisational culture is considered not only innovative but groundbreaking, bringing a new understanding to the mechanics of Organisational Diagnostics and Organisational Development.

Over the past twelve years Graphite has been at the forefront of thinking on OD practice through our patented OD products. At all times we have adopted a rigorous academic approach in research and development ensuring our product and services are leading edge. The integration of Simon's research, which is only now being published, will advance our product and service capability providing further competitive advantage to our customers.

Please join us all at Graphite in offering congratulations to Dr. Simon Mac Rory.
