This workshop provides a practical introduction to the performance management process and puts a specific focus on the knowledge, skills and techniques which managers require in order to both establish clearly defined goals and continuously manage performance.
Session Outline:
The Strategic Positioning
Purpose of the performance management process, what's in it for the
manager and employee. Holding employees and managers accountable for their
performance.
Where Goals Come From
Clarifying individual roles and deliverables. The goal setting cascade process
that links individual goals to company, departmental and team objectives.
Setting SMART goals
Practical exercises in devising SMART goals and defining performance measures.
Exploring employee development needs.
Managing Poor Performance
Articulating what is under-performance, and adopting an effective procedure
for dealing with it.
Performance Meetings
Recognising different levels of performance. A structured approach to performance
meetings and documentation.
