"In the New Era of NERA – What Employers Need to Know"
Breakfast Seminar, The Clarion Hotel, IFSC, Dublin 1
13th March 2008
The National Employment Rights Authority (NERA) has now announced its plans to monitor and enforce compliance with Employment Legislation in Ireland through a team of Labour Inspectors covering the entire country. The Labour Inspectorate has the right to visit your premises and request access to employment records such as:
- Hours of Work;
- Public Holiday Benefits;
- Annual Leave;
- Legally Compliant Contracts of Employment.
With 82 inspectors now covering Ireland, who have the ability to issue fines for non-compliance for €1,000's, it is of utmost importance that all employers put in place proper Contracts of Employment, adequate Employee Records, correct Employment Permits and Employment Policies now to protect against future fines and possible prosecution.
