This programme is designed to empower leaders and build understanding of how organisation's work
Most business leaders are expert in their chosen fields - finance, engineering, software, sales for example. They receive training as their careers develop, further enhancing their expertise. However, their people management ability and their knowledge of behavioural science are often overlooked. Graphite believes managers are often promoted to their roles because of technical accomplishments and seldom because they are perceived as excellent people managers. They acquire people management responsibilities by default. The organisation relies upon this group to deploy and maximise the return on its most expensive and important asset - its people.
Graphite provides a programme in advanced leadership thinking to leaders at all levels in the organisation which also supports the deployment of ODP and TDP. The programme is based on:
- Reading assignments which are assessed,
- Series of one day workshops,
- A case study based on the output from ODP.
The programme aims to increase participants understanding of individual behaviour, to build their skills in setting goals therefore ensuring the alignment of the workforce to the organisational goals. The programme develops the important skill of Root Cause Analysis. This is a powerful method of thinking developed by Graphite, which allows leaders to distinguish between symptomatic conditions - more often than not the issues presented by employees and identified by leaders - and the root causes of problems. Leaders who complete the programme also qualify to use ODP analysis.
