Top Team Development

Now, more than ever, companies right across the economic spectrum are maximising the potential benefits of teams throughout their organisation. But what about the senior executive team at the top? Are they achieving the results through effective team performance?

Graphite HRM has designed a Top Team Development Programme that provides a framework and mechanism for realising top team performance, not about enhancing teamwork. Graphite's four-phased approach concentrates on realising business results through developing the potential of the senior management group to achieve cutting-edge, team performance. We have applied our methodology to strategic development initiatives with a range of different organisations, who want to achieve results.

The programme commences with data-collection whereby each member of the executive team is interviewed on a one-to-one basis. Quantitative data is gathered to highlight the group's current perception of the factors contributing to or hindering effective performance of their team. Second a feedback workshop outlines the findings, facilitates the team to establish its priorities on the issues emerging, and schedules a course of action.

The actions from step two form the basis for the third phase, an off-site workshop devoted to focussing on the overall team direction, and clarifying how this team will work together and structure their roles to accomplish the set objectives. Through a systematic, facilitator-led session, team members give and receive feedback on their role, their strengths and development needs and individuals articulate the support they require from the rest of the team to deliver their goals.

Two months following the off-site a follow-up session is convened to assess progress on all fronts, both team and individual. During the intervening period, Graphite provides one-to-one coaching for team members on implementing their action items. The team continues to monitor and track performance and progress through use of the Team Diagnostic Profiler.
